Our Mountain Towns

Aspen Valley Hospital employees have a variety of vibrant communities to choose from when considering where to live; each with natural beauty and fun activities for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Aspen

The historical town of Aspen is the home of our Hospital. This quaint location is known for its world-class skiing, year-round outdoor recreation and renowned arts, culture and cuisine.

Snowmass Village

Snowmass Village is a resort community with breathtaking views and skiing and outdoor adventure for every level of enthusiast. It is also home to our Snowmass Clinic, located in the heart of Snowmass Base Village.

Basalt/El Jebel

Commonly referred to as the "midvalley," the old railroad town of Basalt also includes the adjacent unincorporated town of El Jebel and the neighborhood of Willits. Here you will find services at the Hospital’s Midvalley Health Institute location and After-Hours Medical Care clinic location.

Carbondale

The picturesque town of Carbondale has a strong arts and music community and still embraces its ranching and mining roots. You can find farms offering CSAs, sustainable businesses and a large trail system all nestled under the backdrop of Sopris Mountain.

Glenwood Springs

Glenwood Springs is a small rural city that offers many modern amenities. Known for its hot springs, this river town has access to plenty of outdoor adventure and excellent shopping and dining.

New Castle/Silt/Rifle

These budding neighboring communities offer closer proximity to the amenities of Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction. They have their own unique characteristics that make them wonderful places for families and fun.

Housing Resources

AVH offers housing resources and, for eligible positions, has several transitional employee housing units, which are designated to assist new full-time employees moving to the area. Other long-term units may be available with an annual lease and are made available through a lottery system that all full-time employees are eligible to enter. Employee housing units are offered based on availability. Governmental resources also exist through the Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Authority, which is one of the most robust employee housing programs in the United States.
